Hamburg Sued: Status change fee

Quote

STATUS CHANGE FEE

Dear valued Customer,

In addition to our customer information from October 2015 we kindly inform you, that we charge Status change fees whenever booking details are adjusted after the physical delivery of the containers at the terminal.

The fee is a pure cost recovery item that applies for the modifications outlined in our a.m. customer information and mainly relates to changes of vessel, voyage, direction, port of discharge and – after the implementation of the VGM guidelines – weights.

Especially the latter has unfortunately triggered many status changes which may be avoided by providing the VGM of the
containers well in time prior to the delivery of the containers at the terminal.

To assist you, please kindly note the guideline for the application of a status change fee triggered by weight adjustments:
Following weight classes are considered:

From 0 to 10 MT
Between 10 to 15 MT
Between 15 to 20 MT
Between 20 to 25 MT
Between 25 to 30 MT
Over 30 MT

For any weight modification that implies a change of weight class after full container delivery, the containers involved must be removed from their stack position.

However there is a tolerance of 1 MT between every weight class.

For this handling, we will charge the following amount:
Eurogate EUR 110,- per container
HHLA EUR 75,- per container

Please do not hesitate to contact us in case you have any further questions.
Contact details can be found under:

Why do we all need Verified Gross Mass of the containers? See here!

We got this from our friends and partners in Australia.

They say:

Below is a very strong image which demonstrates why SOLAS / Verified Gross Mass / and the need to check compliance plates ensure containers are sea worthy.

Herewith we would like to draw your attention with additional information on the consequences low water situation.

It will  affect our C/H business for (LIH/DIH: Loading Inland Haulage/Delivery Inland Haulage) arrangement with Barge/Truck transport in below area:

Via Port/Gateway :  Rotterdam, Antwerp

Country : Germany & France

Transmode : Barge/Truck (BT) mode

The water levels will further falling down accordance with the weather forecasts. Meanwhile our main barge operator announced (per below notice) current low water surcharge has reached  sky high amount additional (EUR475 ~ EUR 625) and expect the next days their barges are no longer able to provide BT service.

Since or barge operators cannot guarantee fix barge sailings any longer or are close to the time that all barge transports will be stopped, we strongly suggest immediately NOT to offer DIH/LIH tariff by BT mode untill further notice.

CMA CGM and Cosco Shipping Port enter cooperation deal

Quote

China-based COSCO Shipping Ports and CMA Terminals Holding, the CMA CGM port subsidiary, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to reinforce cooperation in port operations and investments.

Under the deal, signed on January 20, the two parties said they would cooperate in ports worldwide and preference will be given to ports that the Ocean Alliance calls.

Both sides have also agreed to provide support in terms of business and service to the ports that the other side has already invested.

“Since the establishment of the Ocean Alliance, the cooperation between COSCO SHIPPING Ports and CMA Terminals Holding has become closer. Both sides wish to create more opportunities in global port investment and operation,” CMA CGM said.

The discussion of cooperation began in early 2016 and on this basis, both sides have recently reached consensus and signed the MOU.
