This message from Hamburg Sued popped up on our screens just now:
We make a reference to our customer notification dated 8th August 2014 highlighting the significant delay in rail movements from Nhava Sheva and Pipavav to ICDs in North India.
Unfortunately the situation has not improved, causing increased costs to shipping lines. As we are no longer able to absorb these increased costs we are forced to introduce a
Cost Recovery Surcharge of
USD 100 per TEU
for all ICD bound shipments arriving in Nhava Sheva or Pipavav ports from 1st September 2014 until further notice. This charge is payable upon release of import shipments at Indian ICDs.
