USA / Canada – Cross-Border rail moves to Port of Montreal

January 30, 2017

Dear Customer,

Effective immediately, the Canadian Pacific Railroad has changed the Port of Exit for rail cargo originating from Minneapolis, MN and Chicago, IL destined to the Port of Montreal.

The border crossing point is now Detroit, MI (Schedule D is 3801).

All AES / ITN’s and IE Bonds need to have this point reflected. The correct port code is required to facilitate the US Customs Export reporting process.

For further information, please contact your local Hapag-Lloyd office.
Kind Regards,
Hapag-Lloyd (America), LLC
as agent of Hapag-Lloyd AG
