Maersk Line will be implementing a Transatlantic Westbound (from North Europe & Mediterranean to Montreal) Low Water Surcharge (LWS) for all cargo discharging in Montreal with a Price Calculation Date on or after July 15th, 2016. The implementation of the LWS is necessary as the current water level of St. Lawrence River restricts the intake of the vessels and latest projections of the water level shows further decrease .

Details and scope of this surcharge are as follows:

• From North Europe to Montreal
  • USD 150 per container (both DRY & REEF)
• From Mediterranean to Montreal
  • USD 100 per container (both DRY & REEF)
