US Market – Standard and Specialised Rail Demurrage (for Merchant Haulage) Update
Dear Valued Customer,Please be informed that effective 14 January 2017, APL will implement all standard and specialised rail demurrage charges at all railbroad facilities in the U.S. as follows:

Destination: USA (Inland Railroad Facilities)
Origin: All Origins

Free time: 3 calendar days
Free time commences the day container becomes available at the rail ramp and continues on a calendar basis until expiration. Free time does not include Sundays and holidays unless stated. After expiration of free time, the following demurrage rate will be levied:

Demurrage rate: USD115 per container per day

The above listed charge for merchant haulage (MH) does not include rail storage, which is payable by merchant to rail provider per rail provider’s tariff.

Standard Equipment:
Includes all 20′, 40′, 40’HC and 45′ non-refrigerated containers, non-operating refrigerated containers, and standard tanks.

Special Equipment:
Any equipment utilized for carriage of cargo not identified or defined as standard equipment or refrigerated equipment, including, but not limited to flat racks, open top containers, and half-height containers, whether supplied by the carrier or shipper owned
