Panama Canal Update

Dear Valued Customer –

Late last week the Panama Canal Authority advised that the previously announced draft restrictions have been suspended until further notice after sufficient rainfall raised the water level of Lake Gatun to a satisfactory level. This means that vessels can transit the canal without any draft restrictions other than those normally imposed by the limits at the canal locks (39.5 Feet).

However, please be aware that due to the El Nino impact, the lake is still below its seasonal levels, and the restrictions could be reinstituted in upcoming weeks.

CMA CGM will continue to work with the Canal Authority regarding this matter and will ensure that you are advised if/when restrictions may be reapplied.
Thank you for your understanding,
Best regards,
CMA CGM (America) LLC
