Dear Customer, The St. Lawrence River water levels have decreased considerably, with latest forecasts by the Canadian Coast Guard predicting further reductions. We therefore would like to inform you that with effect of May 22, 2015 Hapag-Lloyd will introduce a Low Water Surcharge for all cargoes moving to/via the port of Montreal as follows:
St. Lawrence Cont. Service – Route 1 (SLCS 1) and 2 (SLCS 2) – westbound
USD 150 per 20′ Container
USD 175 per 40′ Container
JMCS Route A (MCA-Service) – westbound
USD 50 per 20′ Container
USD 75 per 40′ Container
We reserve the right to increase these amounts on short notice, should water levels decline beyond current forecast levels. For further information please contact your local Hapag-Lloyd office.
