Here the first joint customer newsletter of HAPAG LLOYD and CSAV:
A smooth transition period with the accustomed business practices is essential. To safeguard continuity of all business activities, comprehensive training programs have been established to ensure timely training of all staff, as well as clear communication of new business contacts at Hapag-Lloyd to all our customers.
Both Hapag-Lloyd and CSAV will continue to operate as stand-alone units until the start of the vessel cut-over program (combination of services).
Until vessel cut-over, all pricing, allocation and sales responsibilities, customer service, operations and finance processes will remain unchanged.
We will begin to gradually transfer CSAV’s services to the Hapag-Lloyd IT systems in March 2015 (vessel cut-over). Until then, you will not be affected by any changes to the two companies’ communication channels, and we kindly ask you not to change your current booking pattern until the vessel cut-over begins.
The transfer of all CSAV services into the Hapag-Lloyd systems should be completed by the end of June. A detailed timeline on the vessel cut-over schedule will be announced as soon as possible.
Through the combination of Hapag-Lloyd with CSAV’s container business, we will be able to offer you an even better product and an even greater variety of services in the future. Some of the key advantages are:
A larger fleet of vessels and an expanded service network
Additional port connections and shorter transit times
A balanced portfolio across major east-west and north-south trades
An extensive and modern fleet of reefer containers
Cabotage shipments in South America
Stronger sales teams and considerably more office locations
