OOCL customer advisory on Hanjin Shipping

Dear Valued Customer:

OOCL has been keeping a very close watch on the latest development and events following news on Hanjin Shipping’s decision to file for court receivership.  It has also come to our attention that some ports and container handling facilities are no longer accepting nor handling Hanjin Shipping cargo and containers.

In response to the impact on OOCL, we would like to inform customers on the following contingency measures taking immediate effect:

1. OOCL cargo will no longer be loaded on vessels operated by Hanjin Shipping.  For bookings placed on Hanjin Shipping operated vessels but have NOT yet commence loading, (including those at transshipment ports), OOCL will reschedule the bookings to the next available vessel within our comprehensive service network.

2. OOCL will no longer load any cargo and containers from Hanjin Shipping onto OOCL operated vessels.  Hanjin Shipping cargo that are already on OOCL operated vessels will be unloaded at the intended port of discharge.

3. For OOCL cargo on Hanjin Shipping operated vessels that are under arrest and/or idled outside the port, we will liaise with Hanjin Shipping and the marine terminal operators to release the cargo as soon as possible.

OOCL is committed to providing quality shipping services and we are working closely with our customers and partners to help minimize the impact on the affected cargo and supply chains.
